PARISH PLAN UPDATE 2011- ADOPTED RECOMMENDATIONS: The Parish Council at their 12th January 2012 meeting have reviewed the recommendations of their working party and have with a couple of changes, noteably opting to attempt to provide a car park in the centre of the village, adopted the recommendations in full. These recommendations to update the Parish Plan of 2005 were as the result of the Parish Plan Update Survey carried out by the Parish Council during 2011. COMMUNITY GRIT BINS: The Parish Council, after consulting with residents, has provided six green grit bins within the village of Langton Matravers for use by the community in the advent of bad weather. Please use the salt provided on pavements and side roads as and when required. Dorset County Council will grit the main road running through the village (B3069).
The location of the grit bins are as follows:- The turning circle at Capston Field, the corner of Gypshayes and Durnford Drove, the bus shelter at Steppes/Coombe Hill, bottom of Lower Steppes and the corner of Coombes Hill and Three Acre Lane.

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES - FREE ADVERTISING: Over the recent years our Parish has lost a number of businesses for various reasons.The Parish Council is supporting the current campaign to support all local businesses and has therefore decided that it would permit its website to be used to help promote them, i.e those residing within the boundary of the Parish of Langton Matravers. This facility will be provided at no cost and can include a photo/logo, short description ,contact details and a link to any existing website. If any business would like to be included on the Council's website then in the first instance could they email their details to localbusinesses@langtonmatravers-pc.org

ALLOTMENTS: If you live in the Parishes of Langton Matravers OR Worth Matravers/Harmans Cross and would like to grow your own, then the Council has a very short waiting list for their allotment plots.
